Rapture Television PLC. 2003 - 2006
Rapture Television was a free to air satellite channel based in Soho - London and broadcasting on the Sky Television and Freesat platforms.
The content was primarily a mix of dance music and extreme sports with the later addition of technology, videogames, movies and Japanese Anime catering to an 18 - 30 demographic.
Throughout his time at Rapture, Steve produced the channels promos and idents along with titles and graphics for their in-house productions including ‘Gamers', 'That Film Show' & 'Groove TV', two of which: 'Groove TV' ( 14 episodes ) and 'G@mers' ( 54 episodes ) he also edited/co-edited on a weekly basis. Steve also produced commercials for Rapture's advertising partners and was involved in the design and post production development of a number of pilot shows including 'Anime Nation and 'The Really Naked Chef'.
J13 Broadcast Ltd. 2008-2013
J13 Broadcast was a television studio and broadcast playout facility situated just a stones throw from Junction 13 of the M1, near Milton Keynes. The facilities were home to a number of television channels owned by J13, as well as being a studio rental facility for external clients. The facilities infrastructure made it ideal for the production of DRTV infomercials and they were also an early adopter of file based tapeless workflows.
Steve joined J13 Broadcast in 2008 as an editor, motion designer and promo producer, serving the needs of both the companies own channels ( including Edge Media television, Watch Me TV and Psychic and Soul ) and the requirements of external clients. Primarily his work consisted of producing graphics/motion graphics, promos, idents, commercials and title sequences but at times expanded to include long form editorial and occassionally design for print as and when needed.
Edge Media/Controversial TV. ( Sky channel 200 ) 2008 - 2013
Edge Media - Controversial TV was one of the in-house channels based at J13 Broadcast and was available on Freesat and Sky ch193.
EMTV aimed to "air programming that is educational, thought-provoking and enlightening, and to show programmes that encourage intelligent discussion" and noted that it provided "a platform for people to share alternative and suppressed viewpoints".
Much of the channels production was handled by its own production team, however Steve produced many of the idents, promos, titles and on-screen graphics for the content they produced in-house including 'On the Edge', 'Esoteria', 'Lightworkers Guide to the Galaxy' and the 'The Watkins Review'.
Occasionally Steve was called upon to provide editorial cover for the team and has credits for a two hour - live 'On the Edge' special, eight episodes of 'The Watkins Review' and six episodes of 'Lightworkers Guide to the Galaxy'.
Loaded TV. ( Sky Channel 200 ) 2012 - 2013.
Loaded TV was a spin-off from the popular 'Lads mag' Loaded. It was launched on 26 November 2012 initially as a 'micro-channel' on Sky ch200 and was also streamed live on the Loaded TV website.
Steve was tasked with liaising with the program producers and providing idents, title sequences and promos for approximately 4 weeks prior to the channel launch and during its first 6 months on air.
Redshift Media Production 2013 - 2014
Redshift Media Production is an award-winning commercial photography and video production company based in Milton Keynes. They work extensively across the UK and Europe for a range of large blue chip clients including Philips, NHBC, Hilson Moran, Hoare Lea, Zehnder, Kinnarps and the UK Cabinet Office. Steve provided editorial and design services to them during their transition from photography to full-service video production. During this time, they collaborated on around 15-16 projects.
